Gender and breed?

I don't see anything that would make me think it's not a marans, but it is definitely blue and not black.

As to gender, with the size and redness of the comb a wattles at six weeks I would strongly suspect male. However, single combed pullets can sometimes develop fairly large combs early on, so I wouldn't say I'm 100% certain this chick is a cockerel. Keep an eye out for pointy saddle feathers coming in around 9 weeks or sounds of strangled crowing.

"Blue" is the term given to what might be called grey, when it comes to other animals' fur and feathers.

Blue Marans Chicken
Russian Blue Cat
Blue Heeler
Blue Merle Collie
Blue Rabbit

Other types of grey-ish colors can have different color names (lilac, lavender, charcoal, silver) but blue is a very common term.
Well with this breed, a black would be dark gray or charcoal. Blue or gray is a different color with the breed.

So the post says 6 weeks and I don’t think you’re from where I am but a hatchery. Does that make any difference?
Yes, it does make a difference or I wouldn't bother asking, These details give clues about whether this was likely a scammer you found on Craigslist or a legit breeder who didn't thoroughly explain their BBS breeding program to you. Or maybe you went to a feed store and some teenager guessed at what was left in the assorted bin. People acquire chicks lots of different ways and at lots of different ages.

Since it is from the hatchery then it is pretty safe to assume that this is still a Marans just blue instead of black. (Very unlikely to get a rare breed that the hatchery does not sell) As far as gender it is likely male, but at six weeks some female Marans can get this much comb/wattle/redness. Without seeing it side by side with others of close genetics and age I can't be sure.
