Gender by feathers?!

Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before, but Ive seen on here a few times people mention you can kinda tell the gender of a chick by the way its feathers lay? Can someone explain this and maybe give an example pic of a roo and hens feathers..

It is hard to tell when they are young and have few tail feathers. I think there is some way to tell by the shape of their combs perhaps? and i know roos tend to be more aggressive, though everyone thinks one of my chicks is a cockerel and he/shes as sweet as the rest, if not sweeter!
