Gender Copper black maran chick

Hi! My beautifull black copper maran baby is now 2 weeks old and I really want to know the gender. However he (I always say he) shows signs of Both genders, like he has no comb at all but also no tail and pretty short feathers. I know it normally takes longer by black copper maran chicks to see the gender but we probably can't keep him if its a male and im dying to know please share ur opinions!

Too early for yours, but we’ve had straight run Marans and gender was pretty clear at 6 weeks.

yes, you need to wait another month and then it will be pretty obvious, the boys don't hide their combs and wattles very long! though I was recently fooled by a late bloomer, darnit.

Marans boys almost always put on comb very early. By four weeks you'll be pretty sure which are the cockerels and which are the pullets!

Then I will Just have to bite my fingernails for another month I have had an maran pullet before but she then probably wasn't pure because when I look at pictures of her I can now easily tell her gender (while she was only like 2 weeks old) however knowing that I can't tell the gender yet does lower my stress a little. I have some sort of gift for picking males

He is now almost 3 weeks old and I Just made some photo's so I thought why not share them im looking at his behavior and its still a bit of Both, like he loves to take a dust bath (something I have never seen my roosters done before) but he also likes to chase away small birds and loves to Explore. And ofc his comb is still really small. I can also see his first copper spots appear. I keep the hope up that its a girl, fingers crossed

Well the roosters dust bathe too.
My roo does all the time. And he's funnier to watch than the girls as he's huge.
I love it when chicks dustbathe for the first time

Ty for your answer! It really is a big difference! However he does have the smallest tail ever... I guess I will upload some photos on here every now and then until im sure
