Gender guesses??

looks like pullets... The BR... does she have a single comb, or a flat rose comb? In the pic it looks like a rose. If it is, then she's a Dominique, not a BR. And I agree with the Ameracuana/EE assessment. You will never be able to buy a true Ameraucana from a feed store.

That's a full americauna, a rare color, Lavender. I have one jeart like her she's about 5 years old and my best layer. It's hard to find pure Americaunas, ..since they are technically a crossbreed themselves. The dark feet and round rump as above are markers of pure breed status. But I also have Easter Eggers that could fool the best of breeders, Easter Eggers have a variety of egg colors, add true americaunas have true blue eggs (before the are fertilizedfertilized- because this also changes the color of the eggs) not sure if that helps any. The barred rock might be a rooster, which they can be pretty aggressive roosters.. so start hand feeding them some crickets to make them more docile

This is an Easter egger, she lays green eggs

That is not a full ameraucana, which are not cross breeds. And while the bird has a touch of lavender, she's not a full lavender color. Also, the fertilization process has nothing to do with the color of the shell of an egg.

I have 4 "ameraucanas". One looks EXACTLY like a dang hawk herself! (I have to get pics to show!) One is almost pure white! And, 2 are white/light cream color.

Americaunas hardly go broody, two of my Easter Eggers just came out of the woods with 28 chicks. So if your looking for good players invest in some more of them.

Check the americauna breeding club website they give you clear history and regulations.

I'm aware of the Ameraucana Breeder's site. You'll note, Lavender isn't an accepted color, although some breeders are working on it. The closest is Blue, and blue doesn't have any brown in it. It isn't even quite right for a Blue Wheaton, from what I can see on their site (and I'm really checking right now to make sure).
Typically, any bird that is spelled AmerIcana, isn't the breed shown on this site. Its an EE that has been renamed to try to get it to sell.
