Comb so small I can’t tell what kind
Attentive but calm
Likes to check on anyone on their own
Always with company, no preferences

Eight is pretty great “Tistel” (means thistle)
Swedish Flower
Comb is small and they run away so I can’t get a good look
REALLY doesn’t like people
Uniquely talented at avoiding photos
Social butterfly with the other chicks
Generally calm

Silver spangled Spitzhauben
V comb
Pretty big and red
Calm but active and clever
Seems to like to be alone or hanging out with the big chicks on the other side of the glass (two brooders, the other guys are too big to mix them just yet. We know their sexes so they won’t be included here)
Not a fan of people but we got some cuddles last time they were weighed

How can you tell with the frizzled? If it’s how thin the feathers are on the head, I’ve found the feathers everywhere on the body to be very thin too. Personality says female to me and I have no idea how to sex that one otherwise

I just remembered that I have pictures of their parents from the breeder! Numbers one and two (Ebony and Ivory) are from a different breeder and I don’t have photos from them.

They had mottled calico, mauve, blue, black, and splash Cochins. Viper isn’t looking like a calico at the moment so we’ll see what they are in a while I guess

Jinbei was supposed to be a blue partridge but they’re looking like a splash at the moment

The Vulture has their dad’s comb it seems. Could have known they weren’t frizzled early on had I thought to compare to the picture of the two roosters (second photo). Has mom’s clean shaven legs though

We had a porch party for Easter Sunday and got to see how everyone did together with the bigger kids! I’ve numbered the five that I know or strongly suspect are roosters from biggest to smallest.
1, 2, and now 3 (Ebony) have started their wimpy baby crows, so we can be even more sure that Ebony is male (the other two are older and we already knew). 4 and 5 are Jinbei and Viper. Ebony has been picking lots of small fights with Jinbei who stands really tall, raising his hackles (I’m reading this as “I’m not standing down but I don’t want a fight” nice chill Brahma attitude), and when Ebony tried to pick a fight with one of the big boys and lost (we broke it up. No one was hurt apart from Ebony’s bruised ego) both Jinbei and Viper ran to Ebony looking tall and puffy like they saw him loose and thought maybe they could take him now (I scooped him up so nothing could start). No one else cared and no one else acts like a rooster at all, and only Witchie still looks suspicious, so I’m hoping that there are only five roosters and that we won’t need a witch trial later.
