A while back I asked if one of my chicks was male or female and was told that all 3 were male! Shock and horror!

So, you guys are so good at this, we have 7 new ones and I'm 99% one is male but need help with the rest. They are about 6 weeks old.

Good question!! I can tell by the comb. A males comb will be a dark red, while a females are orange or a light pink. Also males have very thick legs, females are skinny.

The first(red)one may not be a cockerel. If the red fills in where it is solid color,it could be one of the red production breed pullets.

so then is this one male? The comb looks reddish.

And thank you!
