Spurs doesn't have anything to do with the sex, unless the chicken is old enough that they start growing out. Which, in that case, would be around at least five months.If it don't have spurs, then it's not a roo. But if it does, it has a possibility of being a cock or a hen.
Both sexes have spur buds. Sometimes hens will even grow some! They don't have anything to do with gender until around five months, when males start to grow them out. Are you sure you weren't looking at one of the toes? Because spur buds are very small, and don't stick out at all hardly, when they are chicks.Hmm all of the chicks at the store had spurs. So guess I’ll wait and see
