I'm pretty sure thats just a small coturnix. Wild colored king quail are colored just a bit differently.

It is definitely a King Quail. Those are what its brothers were when I saw them at the pet shop, and from what I can tell, coturnix are never sold in pet shops where I live.I'm pretty sure thats just a small coturnix. Wild colored king quail are colored just a bit differently.
It is tiny, though. Coturnix are substantially larger than King Quail, and the bird in my photographs is smaller than my male.Looks like all my female coturnix to me. When I Google "king quail" I get something different than the above. Maybe someone had a coturnix egg in a king hatch and it just got missed when hatched. This is going to sound bad but I worked at a pet store. I sold many things. Do you know how many of them were mislabeled and people came back saying they had a whatever and it was actually something else? Happens all the time.
How old is the male? This bird only looks like its a few weeks old.
