Hey thank you for sharing your story!! Its such a shame when you cant keep them! All your chickens are beautiful!

Its good to chat to people who have been in the same or similar situations you dont feel as though your alone.

I guess i was disapointed cos id done loads of reasearch and read tons of articles and books, but didnt notice!! I had my suspictions but like you i just denied the truth untill they started crowing!

I learnt a valuable lesson! Its good to research so your not completly in the dark but only experience plays a massive part! Ya gotta start somewere i suppose!

Hey how are you? Sorry i havnt posted for a while either! Hope your girls are doing good and you found names for them!! They were both cockerels unfortunately, but i found them a lovely home on a small holding were they will be used for breeding! So a lovely 5 acres for them which is great!! The other chickens are doing wonderful and im due to get a white leghorn and a cream legbar on wednesday. But still waiting to hear from the breeders. Thanks for asking how were doing!! :yiipchick

Thats fantastic news!! Well done you! And im not supprised they are beautiful chickens!!

Thats good going with the taming cos i spend loads of time with hazel hen and she is only just now starting to tameca little and trust me! Not sure weather its her age and lack of handling in the past, or her breed?? The pekins were much easier and quicker to tame but patience is key!!

Iv still not heard from the breeders so im gutted hoping i can get in touch tomorrow!

So glad everything is going well for you and that your getting plenty of lovely fresh eggs!! There really is nothing better!!

thank you and i hope you hear from the breeder

might be cause she is a little older or as you said the breed, its fab having the fresh eggs everyday, its saving us a good £5.00 a week in eggs to be far the probaly give us more then what we eat in a week now lol so we are able to give them to next door or family :)

Hey, i never heard from the breeder so i was a bit gutted!! Hopefully my pullets with start laying at end of august!! Plus all my veg will be ready for harvest then so hopefully august will be a good month!!

Its lovely when you get enough eggs to share with family and neighbours. I hope to do that in the future as i get on well with them and always send homemade jam and cakes round! I think people wud be supprised on how much you save on eggs! Even though you have to feed and clean out the chickens you still save in the long run!!

Im having progress with taming my young birds! Patience is key!
