Hi! I'm new to raising a flock and we started with six chicks from our local feed store on May 2nd that had been sexed so we are confident that they are pullets. However, as most things go, we got excited and carried away and bought a few more from a local hobby farmer the next day.
Imagine that! We bought two Americaunas, two Silver or Golden Phoenix and a Mille Fluer Cochin. One of the Phoenix chicks was and is a bit bigger but I'm really worried it's a cockerel. I named her Lizzy and I handle her at least twice a day and she falls asleep in my arms every time. She has shown no signs of aggression and is actually really skittish. If she turns out to be a rooster she will be the biggest sissy ever! I'm still trying to figure out how to determine her gender so I thought I'd give ya'll a crack at it!
Here is her smaller "sister" Sylvia.
When we got them we knew they were various ages. These two happen to be the ones we could catch! Thanx in advance! Tracie
