We have Big Red and my DH and myself do not agree on it's gender. Is 17 weeks old, does not crow, picks on hens, rooster has tried to mount, grew wattles and comb before anyone and since day two I have called it the monster. Please help with argument BTY is production red.

Well, my DH still thinks she is a hen because she has no tail and according to him she is too fluffy in the hind end. I guess he will have to crow before he will believe me. That makes 5 roosters out of 20 chicks. We have two lakenvelders, one is a keeper the other one is not so pretty. Tail feathers all messed up and he can't hold a note to save his life. We also have two banty roosters. Big red picks on the hens constantly. Is this normal? DH has given him many "time outs". Thanks for the input.
