Gender showing on profiles???

Why doesn't gender show on profiles? It would be very helpful I think to see that when conversing with another member.

It is a privacy issue. As covered under our rule about personal information, it is for your own protection. You are free of course to state in the course of conversation what your gender is as long as it is not in an inappropriate manner.
