I got all excited....I thought TJ has chicks! I'm not quite up to hatching eggs though. Why are fertile eggs sold there? Are they billed as healthier or??

In California, SOME of the Trader Joe's stores sell Fertile eggs in the refrigerated egg section. The two closest to my house do; I got eggs from both.

Attempting to hatch refrigerated, fertile eggs was part of the fun!

The breed is White Leghorn.

Nice pic. I wonder if I could sell more eating eggs if I advertised them as "fertile". I'm being sarcastic. A lot of people freak out about "eating a baby chicken" and "that rooster sperm inside my egg is just gross". BUT, I bet they would buy Trader Joe's fertile eggs.

Why would anybody want fertile eggs to eat? Is that a normal practice in some parts of the world or something or is it just some fad? I wonder if the PETA types know....

This just boggles my mind. In my world, you either eat the chicken or you eat the egg. Now you can eat the chicken and the egg? I think I feel dizzy!
