No way are those red sexlinks. Those look like Production Reds. Neither are screaming rooster, yet. And by 9 weeks, most cockerels are pretty obvious.

see the big difference of their feathers? The 2nd one is pointed, stringy, and long. While the 1st chicks feathers are rounded and short.

I am pretty sure it is a cockrel. We have reds and my males looked the same at that age.

Well...I'm not 100% positive but the top one looks like a pullet. Hard to tell with the bottom one but could be a cockerel. The closer pictures were helpful, thinking I didn't see the feathers right in the first batch.

They're both production red pullets.

At nine weeks, a cockerel would have a good amount of red and a larger comb. And nine weeks is too young for saddle feathers. Take those feathers and lay them against a piece of white paper and I'm thinking they'd look identical.
