Gender?

Sooo I hatched this chicken last May and first thought it was a rooster as “it” crowed for about a week. Since then I haven’t heard a peep and have caught “it” sitting in the nesting boxes. Please help...tired of feeding free loaders lol

Absolutely positive. Watched it many morning while drinking coffee. All of the chicks from the same batch have started laying minus this one.

Sometimes, If you don’t have a rooster the dominant hen in the pecking order will crow like a rooster and sometimes will even mount the other hens.
You have a pullet.
At the age it is, it would by now have fully developed pointed saddle and hackle feathers if it were a rooster.

Are you absolutely sure those were crows? Sometimes egg songs (which occur around point of lay) can sound rather forceful, and almost emulate a crow. From your description of her behavior, certainly seems like you'll have a layer soon!

She was crowing when she was about 10 weeks old. Then her hatch mate that was 100% rooster began to crow and I never heard it again. I thought she was a pullet that was just confused but after all this time I thought she would be laying.
