Gender?

I am a first time chicken owner and was told that this was a hen however have had a few people mention that it looks more like a rooster. This EE was bought around April of this year. Was wondering what other people thought?

Can you explain to me how you know this is a male? I obviously believe it is since that the general consensus but as a new mom curious as to how you know.

Large red comb at this age, and I'm guessing he's had it for weeks, coupled with the dark splotchy red wing bars of a male EE.

Agreed. This is a cockerel, and agreed, for what @cstephens1987 is saying. The rust wingbars and the comb give him away.
