Hey everyone I'm Dave I'm from Ontario Canada. 9 weeks ago we got 10 day old sexlink chicks. We recently had to get rid of 3 and they started to crow. our original plan was to keep 4 to 6 as we knew we would get roosters in the bunch. so we are down to 7 birds left 5 which we know are gauranted hens smaller birds overall and smaller feet waddles combed short and yellow..... Now I have 2 these left which I assume are roosters due to color of waddles and combs and tails are pointy. am I wrong? but at same time I look at hens that are sex links brown and there waddles and combs are big and red like these.. so do I give these 2 away or hold on yet? what do you guys think thanks in advance Dave. btw love the website!!

Could you get body pics of the lighter one? I'm interested to see the feathering.

They are roosters. They are not a sex link breed. They look like rhode island reds.

Both are cockerels, the one with dark tails feathers is a Production Red, while the other may be a second generation RSL. Red Sex Links should be autosexing at hatch-males white with small amount of red and females mostly red with some white. Looks like you accidentally didn't get what you meant to buy

Thank you for reply. Ya I never got what I thought we were gettin so far out of 10 chicks 5 turned out roosters. I'm out of town for 2 days I'll send more pics come later in week.

so my buddy claims mine are still hens cause mine looks very similar to his 20 month old ones. here is a pic of his and his hen
