Gender?

Guys, female chickens can have pointy hackles. Those don’t even look that pointy to me. I would bet my life that that bird is female.

A lot of hens have pointy hackles, the second and third birds are pullets.

Yes, they are more round while the ones on the 2nd picture look pointy. I could be wrong but that is just what I see.

Could it also possibly be the pattern on the feathers making them look more pointed than they are? That happened to me with my SLW pullet. Then I caught her and took a closer look.

Also, what is wrong with that first bird? He looks horribly hunched.

The first bird which is a silkie barred rock cross had issues with one of its wings since it was born. Not sure what happened.
