Others have explained why it is a cockerel. EE is not a breed. It is a generic term used to designate crossbred birds which carry the 'colored egg' gene. EE are basically mutts which may lay eggs in a variety of colors.Are you saying it is a cockerel because of the red face? The comb itself does not look very big. EE covers alot of birds, doesn't it, so what breed i it? I really like that head and face. Sort of hawk like. And I keep seeing pictures of them, but no one every says what they are. I have 4 EE's and hoping one will look like this. I just noticed the dark legs on this one, mine all have light legs. Just trying to learn. Beautiful bird.
