How old is the bird? Is that color that seems to be showing on the wing actually there, or is that the lighting of the photo?

Its about 4 months old. We were told that it was a andalusian chicken.

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! That's not an Andalusian. It looks like maybe a Black Australorp or Black Australorp mix. If it's fully mature, it is a pullet.

It's kind of hard to tell. At 4 months, I'd guess that's a pullet getting ready to lay. And it looks like a black australorp or sex link.

I think it's a pullet and probably an australorp mix. You can also post at "what breed or gender is this?" they may have a different opinion
