General Quail Questions

I dont. It's an assortment of 'common colors' that has stuff like Rosetta, tuxedos, scarlets, italians, autumn ambers and a few others. Figured it would be more fun than all of one color, plus most of the ones that specify color are just eggs.

I just found out about a strain that lays blueish eggs instead of the speckled ones. If I want to breed those do the dads need to be that strain too to possibly hatch any? Or does it just matter what color the females lay?

Out of those 'common colours', only rosettas, tuxedoes and italians are actually common in my area. Good luck with your eggs :)

I'm not sure about the blueish eggs. I assume that both parents would need that gene.
