Silkie Mix Chicks!

My Silkie mix chicks have just hatched today, and they are SO adorable!! I've always wondered what they'd look like since one parent is Silkie, and the other is a regular hen. Less fluffy than an actual silkie, but still SO CUTE. They even inherited the fluffy feet and 5 toes!

The "solid" feathers are dominant, so if one parent has regular feathers so will the chicks. They do get feathered feet and crests. I think my Silkie crosses are very pretty birds. They are hardier than the silkies. Mine are very broody, but also lay quite a bit in winter even as they age.
