My Pastor just left and I am overwhelmed by the kindness of a local business who remains unkown to me.
Pastor Steve called me this afternoon and said he had a few things he wanted to drop off for me and the girls. Sometimes the church ladies bring us cookies around Christmas so I was thinking it must be a plate or two of cookies and candies. But he had a box full of presents that say to younger girl and to older girl or to both girls.
There are 8 wrapped presents. 2 hot pink culvers t-shirts. 2 culvers stuffed animals. A $30 Culvers gift certificate with a calendar. And a Walmart gift certificate in a Christmas card and so I called the number on the back to inquire of the balance of the gift card and it was.....drum roll..... $100 !!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I am truly humbled and brought to tears.
My girls are visiting their father right now after not seeing him for 2 years...they were 8 months and 5 yrs. when he abandoned us and the has seen them a week here and there, probably would equal a month in each of the 2 years, so they would have been 2 yrs old and 7 years old the last time he saw them and then not at all in the last 2 years. It was a very difficult moderation process to get to an agreement. There are more moderation preceedings happening Jan. 4th that could use praying over.
I got physically ill yesterday when he called to pick them up. He wasn't good to me and I hope my girls visit is a good one. They are staying 2 days with an Aunt and 2 days with Grandma and Grandpa so I expect everyone should be on thier best behavior since this will reflect any further visitations. It's hard not having my little girls here right now and come the 1st when they come back home I will be much more relieved when I find all is well. I can't wait to see the excitement on finding some more presents under the Christmas tree. It especially makes me happy to have the gift card because the youngest's birthday is coming up in January and now I don't have to worry about affording a present. It truly is a blessing and I thank the people who donated to make it possible even though I don't know who they are, I count them very special.
So to all those of you who donate through out the year...I want to let you know the overwhelming feelings of hope, gratitude, thankfulness, inspiration and the list goes on that you are able to bless multiple people with with your giving.
Today I thought I would lay around and mope because not having my girls and that I'm always in pain but maybe I'll go get an icecream with my Culver's card instead and try to relax and watch a good movie.
Thank You in Christ's name may you all be blessed,
most humbley,
Gretch
