Genes of this rooster?

I thought that too, but the small crest and lack of feathered feet convinced me that if there is silkie in there, it's back a ways.

Doing some further research, I actually found pictures of the parents. Now I'm even more confused as the father seems to have some type of red underneath the dominant white.

Nope. No way, no how.

As suspected, Mum's almost certainly a first-generation silkie. But she's silver partridge. Which makes it physically impossible for her to be that rooster's mother. Silver/gold is a sexlinked gene. Any male offspring of hers would carry silver, which is dominant to gold.

Similarly, Dad appears to be either really odd-looking dominant white (Shouldn't be that much random leakage, and the grey should be black), or a splash. If the first, he could be this rooster's father. If the second, the offspring would have to be blue. Obviously, the rooster is not blue.

I believe that is the mother of the rooster on the pic, she is Silver Partridge, so her son is really golden(S/s+) instead of gold diluted. The father seems to be more questionable.

Looking back on the account, the father of the father was a gold barred, and the mother was dominant white with a little crest and rose comb. He does have some gold leakage, is it possible he carries s+ underneath the white? I know for sure he is not splash.
