Genesis 1588--humidity problem

You will be surprised that you're current readings will be wrong once eggs are in. The eggs will reduce the air volume in the machine. This means the humidity will go up once eggs are in the machine. It was still a good idea to run the machine to check the temp, but that is it. Just fill the one cavity, but in eggs and see where the reading is a couple hours later. Don't worry it will not hurt your eggs. I once forgot to add water and it went down to 20 per a whole day around day 14. They still hatched fine.

58% is way too low in my 1588. I had several get stuck at 66%. However I had no trouble getting it up to 78% and then 80s during hatch. I don't think I even filled the large middle tray. Just all the side ones around the eggs. I do find the humidity will go all the way down to 17% in the bator when it's over 40% out of the bator if there is no water so that fan does make a huge difference. In a dry climate you might have to add sponges.
