Genesis 1588 water question

Yep! Where Katy said to look. If you are growing some Suedelettes, you best go get yourself a hygrometer! I'd hate to see you not get a good hatch from those eggs.

I grabbed mine off of the Bathroom/Shower fixture Isle on the end in WalMart. It had all the rain gauges/thermometers/humidty monitors. The Accurite is 10 bucks, has an indoor/outdoor temp and outdoor humidity. I just tossed the probe inside for humidity and temp readings... Seems to work like a charm.

The probe works well in a water wiggler or water snake. You can find them in the party dept. at Wal-Mart with the party favors.

The probe actually is just used to tell outdoor temp., so if you put it into the water wiggler, it will help you determine what the inside temps. of the eggs are. Pretty handy feature, if you ask me!

Okay as if I am not nervous enough because they are Suede babies...now this water wiggler stuff...HUH?

Okay so I get the hygrometer...do I put it inside the incubator or just the probe? What water wiggler? Why do I need it and what do I do with it? LMAO Carefully with your answers to that last one

I just want to know what the humidity level inside the incubator is... You are talking to a first timer here....normally I shove them under a nasty broody and let her do all the work but my nasty psycho broody pushed the eggs away from her and is setting on a new stolen egg every day. *sigh*

Yes there are only 7 of those precious eggs in the bator. she also sent me 5 Delawares and I threw in 2 EE eggs and 4 unknown, that I think are my cochins' eggs...if so they will be cochin x EE mutts...bearded muffed feather footed fluffballs. bwahahahaha

You have to set the accurite gauge *inside* the incubator to read the humidity. The probe alone won't read the humidity, it just reads the "outside" temperature.

I wouldn't worry with water wigglers, they're just an estimate and not a true reading anyways.

TY Katy. What do I do with it? Put the whole thing in the bator or just the probe or ????

Okay so I grab it, put it in the incubator and then keep the humidity at 40 - 50% until I take the turner out and then jack it up to 60 - 70% and lock her down yes?

I mean you are talking to someone who has a sign by the bator, a list with each egg numbered, what egg it is, who laid it blah blah blah... I mean look

The cats are both petrified to go into the kitchen now because I yell at them and chase them away if they even look like they are going to check it out.

LOL, I know I've been following your posts.

Yes, just put it in where you can fit it and still be able to read it from the outside. It will tell you the temps inside the incubator and the humidity as well.

If I remember right, the side with the turner is where I had room to put mine. Since you will have the whole thing inside the incubator, you won't have to get the one with the probe.
