Genesis vs. Brinsea... Survey

thats all that matter then-Im jealous of your set up for sure-I have one breed that should start laying soon and when they do I need a fabulous bator to do it for me-Im taking no chances of screwing up tests and hatches on these guys.

I have a Brinsea Octagon 40, and 2 hovabator 1588 genesis incubators. I LOVE my brisnea. Ive had it for about 9ish years now. Still works great. Holds them temp perfectly. I always get great hatches when I use it, even with shipped eggs. I also love my hovabators. They work great also, hold them temp nicely. Get great hatches in those to. I would get a brinsea over a hovabator though, just because the brinsea is made with plastic unlike the hovabator being made of styrafoam.

So what do you have to do WITHOUT the pump?

Get a separate hygrometer, calibrate it, keep it in the 'bator, add water as necessary and hope it wasn't too much, because then you have to vent it without losing heat..... Keep checking it.

The humidity pump automates ALL of that - just keep it full and the control system pumps what it needs. Even when you are asleep or at work.

I had a hovabator and OMG as a newbie hatcher I had so much stress keeping the humidity and temp correct. So I got the Advance EX with the humidity pump and I love it! Totally plug and play. Just dial in the humidity and temp needed and wait for chicks to pop out.
