genetic hackle eggs on Ebay

Recently I have been getting a few emails from folks who are interested in genetic hackle eggs for this coming spring. I thought I would let those who follow this thread know that I have updated my photo albums to include some photos of the first group of birds I plan on breeding this year.

You can check my profile and open the 2013 breeder album.

Hi

yes I know exactly what he is breeding

I spoke to Doc earlier in the year and discussed my plans and was looking for extra wide feather traits

But the bottom line what one person considers wide verses another is different

From what Doc told me those birds are wide for wooly buggers not for the files we are looking to build

Great pics

Howdy Mr Val,
Have really enjoyed looking at your bird on the ighf site and thought I would drop you a email in hopes that we might chat about our hackle birds. I have two different lines of genetic hackle birds that I had purchased long ago and have been having a great time working with them and watching them develop into some gorgeous tying birds. These 2 genetic lines have been around for many years here in the states, so if you care to see them, I think you will enjoy what you find. Crossing blood lines sounds interesting as you had mentioned on the ighf site. If you're interested in chatting, I look forward to hearing from you. thanks for taking the time to read this email and hope to hear from you soon. Take Care Theflywizard

Just digging up an old thread to ask a quick question. Has anyone purchased hackle eggs from Baxterhouse2011 on Ebay? Or maybe he is a member? I bought a dozen from the other person on Ebay selling them (from Cali) and had a 0% hatch rate using a very closely monitored Brinsea. The eggs were also very un-uniform...from large to small, some white some brown, oddly skinny to regular shaped. Not sure if this lack of uniformity is common, just throwing it out there.

Anyway, I would prefer to purchase them from a member with good stock and fertile eggs. And if anyone has time to check out this auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Geneti...099?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27eb039913 please let me know if this looks like stock worth investing $100 for a dozen eggs.

Trailchick, thank you for the PM and reply! I will certainly use Baxterhouse and order a dozen eggs this week...nice to hear he is a member and that he is selling legitimate eggs. I will also start a new thread warning people against buying from the seller that I bought from previously on Ebay. Apparently he is using pics of other people's birds on his auctions!
