Does anyone know how the black of Black Jersey Giants is constructed genetically?

I assume it's the same as any all black chicken. E (Extended Black) –black/cream day-old chicks, adults predominantly black.

Not all black chickens are based on E, and E alone does not a black chicken make.

That actually sounds like extended black characteristics...assuming you mean chicks feathering out...

Are you saying that most black birds based on E extended black have slow, inhibited, or stunted feather growth?

It can be an issue with young chicks.
