Ok I’m kinda following but still a bit confused. So to clarify self blue and lavender are the same colour but just blue is different?

Yes. Blue is a dark gray, lavender/self blue is a more pale dove gray color. Blue/Black/Splash genetics only apply to blue and not self blue.

Blue, as in black/blue/splash, is sometimes also called "Andalusian Blue" (because the Blue Andalusian breed was the best known one with that gene at the point people were figuring out that there were two different genes that could make chickens look somewhat "blue.")

Distinguishing "self blue" and Andalusian blue" was at best confusing. Calling the one "lavender" and the other "blue" is a little better, and mentioning black/blue/splash usually helps make it clear which one is meant there too.
