(Okay so I've been watching this thread for day's now (No, not in a creepy stalker way...) trying to decide if it's to late for me to join and be able to get into the story line and i'm still not sure and also if I join I need help with the whole power's thing cause i'm not all that creative. o.o)

(Is there some kind of town or something on the island that is separate from the school There are plenty of towns. It's a good size island. Mostly tourist towns, I think, and/or something along the lines of a few abandoned turn-of-the-century industries like an old sawmill or a mine of some kind, or is the campus alone on the island? There is a granite mine. Maybe some other things. It is a real island (Mount Desert Island, Maine, United States) so you can look that up. I think I will do just that. If you want, I might be able to make a better map of the island with the locations of the real towns and the granite mine, plus the school, the barrier, and maybe a few extra fictional structures similar to the old quarry. Let me know if you agree and I'll give it a shot.
Personally, I think it would be a lot of fun and have some great story and plot opportunities to have, in addition to the school: a now-deserted town, an old coal mine or something similar, and an abandoned sawmill and maybe an old fort somewhat closer to the school.)

(Plus, they already know what their powers are and what they are from from Sylvester's (the dead guy's) DNA test on the school.) Dirk and Connie weren't there when Sylvester ran those tests; they don't know what their abilities are yet, but they're beginning to get ideas of what they might be. This is intentional, because I think it could be quite fun when Connie discovers what her hair can do and that she can walk on ceilings and stuff. If this is a problem, and they need to already know their powers, then I can live with that.

Gideon nodded, "I think we should have some of us, preferably with night vision, take some camping materials and watch for any animals to see if they can cross the barrier. I don't know how many of us can hunt, so we might want to ration the food and water."

Connie nodded back, "Good thinking, I like it. I could go with the scouting team unless you think I'd be more help here. I'm not sure what powers Dirk and I have yet, but I've always had pretty good vision and I'm familiar with guns, so I might be a good person to send scouting and hunting." She pointed over towards her brother, "Dirk would be a good help with anything that needs smarts or brute force, if you can think of anything; he's kind of a combination between a nerd and a Neanderthal." The group finally made it back to the campus, but the sun was beginning to set. Connie guesstimated that they would only have around another two-to-three hours before twilight. She immediately called out to her brother, "DIRK! Take one or two of the other boys and go see what you can find at the security building!"
Dirk gave a thumb's-up, then walked up to a group of some of the male students, saying "Alright, I'm going to need one or two of you guys to come and help me investigate the campus security building. Hopfully we can find at least a couple of guns or something that we can use for hunting and protection, at least until we can manage to head out and look for something at one of the police stations in town."
