Avis raised her hand, "I volunteer to go to the barrier. I can't see at night, but I am a GPS."

Kathryn raised her hand"I'll go too.I have night vision ,so I hope I'll be able to help."She called out

(Go ahead! Less work for me! ^.^) (Done, I'll send you a PM with them. There's a whole island shot and a close up of the area around the school. Btw, did you know that there was a real highschool less than half a mile from the spot you put Aquila High on your map?)

Avis raised her hand, "I volunteer to go to the barrier. I can't see at night, but I am a GPS."
"I've got night vision too." Julia said raising her hand. "Id be happy to help."

"Great, we'll head out once we find some supplies and night falls. Until then, just try to help out in any way you can find. I know my brother needs some help checking out the security building, we need people looking for food, water, medical supplies, and we need some people to round up any of the students that are still here." Connie scratched her chin as she thought about what else might be a good idea to get done. Then her eyes widened a bit and she said "I got it!" The ends of her hair wiggled again, but longer and a little more rapidly, though Connie herself still failed to feel it. "We need someone to go around and check to see if any of the land-line phones still work. I think we can assume that whatever is causing that barrier would block any kind of cellular signal, but the underground lines that the 'old man phones' use might be fine." She turned to Gideon and again asked what he thought of her ideas.

Jenna walked out of one of the unused classrooms in the school. She blinked at the sudden brightness the dim hallway lights had achieved, and winced at the sudden assault on her senses. Her footsteps were as loud as a door slamming, and she could smell cleaning products, food, and, surprisingly, the students themselves. She squinted, pulling a pair of sunglasses out of her bag and put them on, sighing in relief as the light darkened. 'Where is everybody?' Jenna wondered. Sniffing experimentally, she followed the strongest scents into a larger hallway. Jenna noticed that the farther she went, the more bitter the scents became. 'They're afraid,' Jenna thought, then 'Wait, how do I know that?' Jenna suddenly got very nervous. If her eyes weren't open, she would have sworn that she was in the middle of nowhere, due to the sensation of empty space around her. She shivered and started to run towers the school doors, only to skid to a stop, astonished at the speed she had just achieved. She sensed something cold behind her and leaped forward, spinning around. Jenna frowned, confused. There was no one but her in the hall, and apparently this area of the school, as the only sound she heard was a faint babble of voices in the distance. She looked around and this time noticed an air vent in the ceiling. Now extremely nervous, Jenna moved cautiously towards the main entrance of the school.

Gideon smiled, "Sounds good. Okay, everyone who's scouting the border tonight, start making preparations. I want a few people to take stock of food and water supplies and a few others to go check the nurse's office for medical supplies. Five groups of three, check the campus for anyone else. Connie, I think I'm forgetting something. Any ideas?"

Jenna walked out of the school with her hands over her ears, trying to block out the noise. She saw a large group of students so she walked over to them, hoping that one of them could tell her what was going on.

"I think Dirk still needs some help checking for weapons at campus security, but that's about everything." Connie looked around and, seeing Jenna looking confused and disoriented, motioned for her to come over towards her and Gideon.
