I have a young speckled sussex rooster and various hens/pullets (including one SS). I was wondering what colors I would get if I let the hens hatch some eggs.

I've looked at the genetics calculator here: http://kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm#kipcalculator, but I can't figure out what color names on there correspond to my birds:

Speckled sussex: ?
Black Australorp: Black (woo-hoo!)
Buff Orp: Buff (another point for me!)
Welsummer: ?
SLW: I guess "silver-laced(blacktail)"?
EEs: well, I know they will be mutts anyway, but would that typical EE hen coloring usually be called partridge?

Any pointers would be appreciated. This is just a matter of curiosity for me right now, I may just keep pure SS eggs only and pop those under anyone who goes broody, or never hatch any at all.

For Speckled Sussex in US put the following into the calculator:
e+/e+, Co/Co, MhMh, mo/mo & leave all the others unchanged.

For black Australorp, as you thought:

E/E (though sometimes there can be other genes present).

Buff Orp is a bit difficult, as there are a lot of genes & possibilities involved in the completely buff bird. I know what I'd put in but I don't know how accurate it would be.

Welsumer: e+/e+, Mh/Mh.

Silver Laced Wyandotte: eb/eb, Co/Co, Pg/Pg, Ml/Ml, S/-, (& possibly Di/Di).

The "links" to the Chicken Calculator are VERY INTERESTING...and useful, I expect, IF a person knew how to use it.

My high school German is over 40 years old and almost never practiced.

Apparently, there is an English (American) option.

Is there an Instruction Page in English?

I would like to learn to use this, but I'm totally LOST!

Any helpful suggestions (other than going back to school?)

It's Dutch, not German

English is listed either above or in front of the Dutch.

Select the variety you want for the cock and the hen, either from photos or from a list of genetic variety names. Go in and alter individual genes as you prefer. Click on CALCULATE CROSSING, and it will list the possible results from that breeding.

Henk69, is that calculator & site your work? It is the most amazing thing.
I've known about it for a few years but haven't had the need or desire to try it out before now. Thank you for the hint, that helped and thank you for making that awesome calculator.

Just for fun: Crossing a speckled sussex male over a silver laced wyandotte female should result in red females with incomplete black lacing and yellow/golden cockerels with incomplete black lacing (that's assuming I implemented Krys109uk's advice correctly). Who would've thunk it?

Thanks all, this is very cool stuff.

This genetics calculator is indeed a very cool gadget
I too, find myself in need of it
I have a half dozen golden lace cochin hens and a silver laced cochin roo
the closest I see in the options is sebrights in the same colors
are these the correct choices to make or should I make modifications?

Thanks so much for such a cool toy
