From what i've heard of the pumpkin gene, it is an incompletely dominant dilution gene, behaving similarly to blue. It shows up much better on males, and turns black to red.The hen is obviously a Wheaten mottled, but the rooster looks abit like a White Pumpkin.
Still learning about Pumpkin. If I remember correctly it's not fully understood, & is possibly another Allele in the Wheaten Gene.
I think White Pumpkin is just Dominant White X Pumpkin(Not 100% sure though).
So, those bred together will make split mottled Wheatens, possibly pumpkins, & White Pumpkins.
This isn't a color I specialize in, so if anything is incorrect can be corrected.
I heard something similar like that about Khaki. Don't recall it with pumpkin though.In homozygous form, it acts like splash
