Genetics Question: How Did I Get a Solid White Chick from Two Barred Birds?

It looks like a pullet. Absolutely no red and very tiny comb! Looking forward to seeing what she looks like as an adult.
Me, too! Such a shock after expecting a black chick, but sort of cool to get this out of two barred birds. Need to get an updated picture of the little minx. I wonder if this would happen again with one of Rex and Delia's chicks or if it's a fluke? Delia is going to live with my friend Cetawin in Kentucky soon so I'll probably not find out.

Tried and tried to "hit a moving target" and get new photos of this 4 week old youngster. Here is what I managed to get with my crappy camera. I keep thinking I see a tinge of pink creeping into the base of the comb and the wattles, but it's hard to say for certain. If it's a cockerel, it's slow to show itself.

Compared to the Delaware cockerel the same age, sure looks like a pullet, but the Dels show themselves by 3 weeks old, so not usually the best comparison.

Still think it's a girl! Look at those skinny little legs!

I have answered my own question, I think. I do not think little miss Sammie Jo would be great for a straight Delaware breeding group, just a hunch because of how she's feathering out. She doesn't look as if she'll have true tail black, though I realize she is as good as many pure hatchery Delaware pullet chicks at this age. Anyway, Justine, you were right, it's a pullet for sure and she'll stay with me and go into the laying flock with her sire. So, this will conclude this thread. Won't know if it would happen again since I'll no longer have her mother after this weekend.
