Hello, I have blrw bantams and I’m having a hard time finding people who breed them in my area (Southern Oregon). I have all splash and one blue. I’m looking for black or more blue. I have some good standard size breeders around me though. My question is, if I breed a standard and bantam blrw will the offsprings color still turn out the same? I understand that the size will most likely be medium. I’m not looking to sell them just my own personal enjoyment.

Genetics same as solid BBS breeding...
Blue(laced) × Blue(laced) = 50% will be blue laced red.. 25% black laced red and 25% splash laced red..

If you only want blue laced breed a black laced to a splash laced
edited to say I didnt clearly read your post..

to get blue breed black to splash
for black breed blue to black or black to black
and to get all three breed blue to blue

Genetically color/pattern wise the LF and bantam are the same so yes.
Why not just breed your splash with the blue. That will produce blue and splash so you'll have more blues. Then breed blues together and you'll get blue, black and splash so even more blues and the blacks you wanted.

If I breed the blue with the splash would that dilute the blue in the offspring and possibly the mahogany?

Just so we're sure we're on the same page when you say "blue, splash" you do mean blue laced red and splash laced red right?
As long as we're both talking BBS laced and red its all good.
As long as everything you're breeding is red and not gold like gold laced then there won't be anything effecting the red. BBS doesn't effect red so no issues there.
Splash should lighten the blue but it could over many generations just as black could darken the blue over time.
I'm not sure if you understand BBS breeding and how blue over blue works if so cool. Blue and splash results in blue or splash offspring. There won't be any issue with those blues. Use what you have to get more blues and then use those blues together the next year to get blacks. Then you'll have all three colors and decide what you want and pair accordingly.
Is your one blue a male or female?

Yes, I do mean blue and splashed laced with red. I just started trying to learn about this breed and I’m trying to learn the genetics from what I’ve seen about them in threads. I am in no way experienced and appreciate your help. I was wondering about the red color diluting because I’ve noticed it mentioned in other threads (I may have just misunderstood what they were saying). My blue laced red is a male. Thank you for taking the time to explain things to me and help me learn. I greatly appreciate it.

No problem.
I wouldn't see anything in breeding BBS laced red that would dilute the red.
I know when the variety first came out around here people were breeding them to gold laced and of course that caused issues.
Better that your blue is a male. That way he can be bred to all your splash girls and get you more blue offspring then if the blue was a hen and then you'd be limited to just one hens eggs.
BYC is a get site to learn. Never be afraid to ask questions. Lots of knowledgeable people here that are willing to help. Its a real friendly place.
