Georgia Giant Question

Hi everyone, I am fairly new to raising quail. I am currently raising Coturnix and Georgia Giant Bobwhites. I hatched the Georgia Giants last year. I am thinking about getting some more. I was wondering if I could add them to the others or do I need to keep them separated? I have read that bobwhites can be agressive and don't want to have a massacre on my hands.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As long as they're of the same size maturity-wise. By that, I mean don't put the little'uns in with the grown-ups until that develop to the same size as far as markings are concerned. (analogy: Like putting 5th Graders with Seniors) Those Seniors' "bullyism" will come out immediately.

Thanks for the quick response Randall. Both batches will be between 6 and 8 months old.


Also, I am hoping that they start laying eggs soon. The weather has been in the 80's and they don't even seem interested in each other. I currently have the both pens facing each other and I am wondering if that is affecting their reproductive juices? Should I move the cages to where they can't see each other?

All it does is just keep them amused at the fact they can't get "over there" where their neighbors are.
