One of my hens is suddenly acting lethargic, not much appetite, keeps to herself, fluffy, and has pink skin dihareah butt feathers. Maybe my imagination but her comb looks darkish? At fist I didn't notice because I only have 6 hens in a very large wooded fenced area and this particular hen is the only one that doesn't like to be touched, its not unusual, for her to be off a little ways. Not sure what to do, the symptoms seem to fit a wide variety of things!

Welcome to BYC. How old is the chicken? Have you ever wormed them? If you clean her vent area, are there bare areas that are red and have any yellow or white patches of skin? Some of the possible problems could be coccidiosis, worms, or vent gleet. Two good wormers for chickens are Valbazen and SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer, if you need to worm the flock. Coccidosis is more common in younger chickens, and it causes diarrhea or blood in the droppings, along with lethargy, puffing up, and no appetite. Corid (amprollium) in the water for 5 days is the usual treatment for that. Let me know if you need dosages.

She is about 4 years old. I only have 6 hens. Yes some bare butt skin!, but no colored patches, and no blood...
