Hey all! So I'm new to the chicken world, but have quickly come to love it! My DH built a nice little coop for our 6 ladies. They are right around 9 weeks and seem to be much happier since being moved to their coop. My question is it fine that their run in Georgia red clay? It has been raining almost nonstop for days now and I'm starting to worry that maybe I should put something down in their run. It's not swampy mud, and I don't think it will get swampy. The thing is, it's been raining so much off and on that the ground never really has time to dry. So far the chickens don't seem to mind, but I'm still worried seeing as I don't know much about chickens. Can someone please help put me at ease or point me in the right direction?

Thanks @B-Goock! You have some fantastic ideas! For now I am picking as many clovers and wild strawberries as I can to try and get them a layer on top of the mud until I can get some sand and gravel.
