Quote:Yes she is. [IMG] The New Hampshire breed is the prettiest breed of chickens too me. I have one lone pullet she's a nice looking girl but a little darker than yours but I love her (warts and all [IMG]) and got big plans for her too. Now my 2 boys they are just great in every way there is to me esp. Rusty my #1 I've got big plans for him too. and I'm hoping to get more. We got to get this beautiful breed back up and running again for the world to see and take part in. [IMG]

I have two hens and a roo from Kathy. Beautiful for sure. Next Spring I will allow mating and have some more. I named my roo Fred. [IMG] He was red and was full of his good looks. He loves to crow his head off too. I have a cousin that is that way so I named him after him,. LOL. Hope he isn't on this forum.I know that Beth has some too.
My hen is actually a bit brigher and the colors are more distinct than the picture shows. She is 21 weeks, no eggs [IMG] I sure will be glad when she starts to lay. Gloria Jean

My NHs from that strain came into lay from 24-26 wks. Mine are laying a nice medium brown egg, with a few being lightly speckled. I have worked down to eight pullets, and intend to only move forward with four. They are beautiful birds, and I have enjoyed their calm character.

I LOVE my four girls, and am still making up my mind which roo is the keeper of the four I have, although I think I decided it this morning, when he came up and ate out of my hand. They have been shyer birds than I am used to , my Dels are always all over me, and the BBS Orps are the drama queens of the century.

I like them, I really do- and Gloria Jean, thanks for starting this thread, I think we should keep it going and compare notes and pictures as we go along. I PROMISE I will get some pictures soon!

Kathy has the most beautiful New Hampshire birds I have ever seen.
Crazyhen's young beauty has a promising future!

This breed is on my list as I expand, and replace my flock.
    I also love Orps

Beth one of mine is really shy, the other not as much. I haven't spent a lot of time trying to tame them down like I usually do. A rough summer. But now I sit and talk to them and give them a bit of bread. They will almost all come for that. The last are my orps.. I have one blue and one black from your line. I think they are mostly English as to looks and size. They make two of my Lavenders. Drama queens for sure. I picked one up to ck and she screeced like I was killing her. [IMG] the German NH quieted quickly but wasn't esp. happy about it. Later when they start laying and I can spend more personal one on one, they will be calmer I am sure. I took the last roo out of their pen today. They are calmmer without them also. I have my two roos in the end pen where we got Cloud from. It works well for them. They were raised together and do not fight. I am getting ready for my two new girls. Maybe they will teach mine what the nest boxes are for. [IMG] I know they need more time to mature too. gloria Jean

Ps more pictures would be great from anyone with this line.
