German Shepards? Predator or Pest??

Great Dogs! But you must understand that you are buying a dog that is bred to have a high prey drive! Never leave your pets unattended and you won't have a problem. Be careful about getting a GSD that hasn't had the proper testing done on their hips though. You really can't afford to buy a dog that hasn't been OFA certified. They are prone to hip dysplasia, so pay the extra money to get a good one. It will save you in vet bills in the long run! They are super intelligent dogs, and I will always have one in my house!

Beautiful Sammy!! Looks alot like the one we picked out!!! This is a free dog. I believe with any big dog breed with the proper exercise through out its whole life they will be fine. I wasn't planning on leaving him unattended. I've just had a few mutts who were killers and that, you can not change. Looking forward to my first GS!!!!

I have two GSD's - Solo whom I had in England before we moved to France - he will chase chickens and so he is never allowed near them, however, Brindille (our French rescue GSD grump) is terrific with all of the animals - she protects the chickens! Solo isn't bothered about the geese, ducks, donkeys, goats and horses - he will integrate with them but he has a major problem with my chicks - he is obedience trained but has this urge in him to chase - so..... he can never get near them, it would not be fair on them nor him to allow this to possibly cause an incident!

She isn't a GSD grump ( the modifiers have changed from B*tch) she is female (Brindille that is)
