German Shepherds

All the GSDs are beautiful. We used to have a white one that someone just dumped out at our ranch. We had been gone to a conference in another state for 4 days. When we got home "Shep" was in the cable fenced garden where there was water and wild rabbits and rats. It was obvious he had not been disciplined or trained, but very smart. Vet said he was about 18 months old. He was a little head strong and probably "ran" the people who had him as a puppy until they "got rid of him".

I put a regular collar on him and a 6 foot leash attached to a belt around my waist. I became Alpha and he learned to be Beta. He went everywhere I went and within a week he learned to obey commands. I praised him for sit, lie down, come, stay, outside, potty, fetch, down and go to bed. Fortunately he was not a barker unless someone pulled in our driveway.

Once he was trained and tested around children, other dogs and cats, we found him a lovely home with an experienced GSD person and he got a real name.

This is our Pepper Ann. She is now 2 years old. This picture was taken last fall. She is ornery, the instigator of the family!
