Get rid of the coop dust easily

Quote:
Be very careful when cleaning up mouse droppings. They can harbor hantavirus. You should always wet it down with bleach first and sweep/wipe up gently so as NOT to create dust in the air. We just had a 50 year old guy die at the hospital after cleaning out an old shed. Hantavirus is often, very often, fatal to humans.

For those that have the smaller coops, all you need to do is open your people door and use the blower through the smaller door. That's how I cleaned my little coop and it worked great without covering me. Now my new coop, 12x16, a different matter.

Thanks! That's what I did. Saturated it with bleach and blew out what I couldn't reach. I wore a mask, too. I think I'm out of the woods since it was done a year ago. But you are right... can't take chances.

Great idea! The key is wearing the mask until clothes are in the wash. We all want to stay healthy.
