Getting a freezer camp trainee thicker?

He's certainly worth cooking & eating, but he probably won't qualify for your Thanksgiving feast. Most of the birds I have for processing are standard breeds or mixed breeds, I've even butchered some bantams.

I usually slow-simmer them over low heat with herbs, garlic & onions until the meat melts off the bones, then I discard the bones, package the cooked meat for future meals, and boil down the cooking liquid to make a rich broth.

If you're just processing Slim Jim you could still use that method, cook some noodles in the broth, and add Jim's meat along with some veggies to make a nice soup.

Slim Jim

hee hee hee slim jim... hee hee hee

this is extra funny to me b/c one of the spring chicks we bought is called Slim. she is just ridiculous, always the last one in at nite, and runs the wrong way every time. we're calling her Slim b/c the chances that she is going to make it much longer are 'slim and none'

The fastest way to put weight on any mature Hen/Roo is feed 28% game bird starter. Moisten it 50/50 with water and keep the dish full 24/7 with a light on 24/7. After a week/10 days they'll be ready. The constant light will make them lethargic and hungry.
