This is most likely covered in here somewhere, but I can't find the answer with a search.

Our daughter's flock had it's rooster killed the other day, most likely while protecting the flock. He did a great job of protecting and managing the flock and I think we need to get her another rooster. He was the only rooster in the flock.

Can a new adult rooster be introduced into the flock? All of her chickens have been raised from chicks so she knows how to introduce young chickens. Would introducing an adult rooster be similar?

:welcome so glad you have joined us. You should post an intro under New Members forum to get a proper welcoming.

So sorry about the loss of your rooster.:hugs

I have no experience with roosters at all, but IMO you would need to quarantine any new bird and integrate the same as adding any gender to the flock.

Sorry about your rooster! I recently introduced a 6 month old cockerel to 7 month old pullets. It only took one day!
