It has been over 12 years since we heated up an incubator. Our girls are getting a little long in the tooth at our new house and we wanted to try to hatch some of our own. (we did pick up 4 black australorp and 4 something-i-cant-remember week-ish old chicks yesterday from the feed store.)

It should be entertaining what comes out of this experiment. We have a melting pot of hens and a white silky roo. Last year one of the girls set on one egg. Ended up being a funny looking roo. Gave it away.

We are using a little giant with turner and fan. Put yesterdays 10 in last night. Will add today's this evening.

Any thoughts on what we are going to end up with?

If you do everything correctly, I think you could count on about a 2/3 to 3/4 hatch rate. I would say (if you get 10 more this evening) that probably about 12-15 will hatch, if they are all fertilized.

I know my little man is not getting all of the girls but he does his best. He waits on a stick or brick for one to pass by. Lol
