Dear BYC,
I have recently decided to get back into the chicken raising for the spring of 2013. I usually raise rabbits, then i missed the simplicity of chickens.
Quite honestly, the chickens got me back into the business. i came into my coop, and found three of my chickens seriously broody, and i felt bad for taking their eggs every night. so i let them raise the eggs for about 4 days, to get them started, to see if they were serious. they were, however, they kept switching nests. so i got down the old incubator, and built another incubator/brooder, out of wood.
Now, the eggs are in their 6th or 7nth day of incubation, and the embryo is fully formed, the veins are there, and there starting to become stationary, instead of floating around the egg. so their expected to hatch about the 26-30th of June. i'm excited to get them as pets. their probably mixes of golden seabright, buff- orphington ext. so a mixed breed.
Thanks alot! i have been a member of BYC, however, i lost contact with my last account, so i made a new one. Thanks alot guys! and good luck to anyone else in the process of hatching!
Sincerely,
BYC member Andy
