Getting bashed by best friend over snake

I get the point, and I totally agree. Nothing like that should be funny in any way. I wasn't talking about the snake's anatomy because I thought that would change the fact that it was cruel, I just like to learn about stuff like that.

No. I disagree. It was unnecessarily cruel. Not funny. No.

You can eat meat, or not. You can feed meat to your pets, or not. Either way, you can still care about animal welfare. And of course you should care about the human condition world-wide.

You can butcher & process animals for food. You can dispatch animals that are pests & predators to your household.

But you must be humane. Not cruel. Not causing unnecessary pain or harm. Not indiscriminately. With wisdom & knowledge & awareness.

Certainly not rolling with laughter afterwards.

Very well said!!!

Who gives a hoot who doesn't eat meat or why? It doesn't effect you in any way, shape or form. I'm an atheist and a vegetarian but I don't bash Christians or meat eaters because it has NOTHING to do with me! There are extremists in EVERY group and you can't judge an entire group by the whacko actions of a few. Leave peoples' harmless beliefs alone!

Ummm, again, no. I disagree. This was unnecessarily cruel. And certainly not an event to describe as hilarious or awesome.

Snakes also have bones and soft organs. You cannot guarantee that such mishandling would have no harmful affect on an animal. There was no need to treat a living creature in such a way, especially one that would probably have crawled away on its own. Usually all you have to do is stomp your feet and most wild small animals will flee.

Well its better than being killed I guess

Again, there is no reason to kill a perfectly harmless snake. All that was accomplished was killing a harmless animal and sending the message to any children present that its ok to kill animals they don't like.......not a message that I personally like to see spread.

For heaven's sake.....its a snake, people! Plenty more where that one came from!

This attitude is why there are so many extinct, endangered, and threatened species worldwide. Eventually, there WON'T be "plenty more."

Snakes are solid muscle. They can be run over by cars and be unphazed. Im sure that the snake was not hurt in anyway while soaring through the air or landing on the ground.

I've never seen a snake hit by a car be "unphazed"....horribly mangled and dead, yes....but not "unphazed." The only way a snake is getting out of being hit by a car with its life is if its tail was the only thing run over. Snakes are actually more vulnerable to injury than many other animals...they have only 1 functional lung and 1 functional kidney and everything is very close to the surface. Snakes do not have a great deal of cartilage and their bones are very narrow. You can severly injure a snake simply by trying to pick it up by the tail....let alone swinging it around or flinging them 50 feet to slam into the ground.... That was an incredibly cruel act and that snake probably did not get away with its life (it may have moved off...but probably had damage internally that would have caused it to die later).
