This is a picture of the shed I am going to convert to my chicken coop.

The people I bought the house from had pigons in there.
I work for a building supply company.I have picked up (cheep cheep) all new tilt and clean windows with grids, 2 pre hung entry doors..insulated with low E glass and grids, new roof shingles and enough Bella Stone to run a 3ft coarse along the bottom.
Bella Stone as a 3 ft pannel that looks like a masonary wall.
I also picked up a 12x20 dog run to attach to the outside.
All the gables are vented and covered with wire mesh and I am going to move one of the roof turbine vents so the the coop portion will have 2 of them.
Between the 6 windows the roof vents and the gable vents..I shoulden't have any problems with ventilation.
I was able to pick up a couple of really nice barn windows with individually glased grids to match my other sheds.
So from the front all the sheds will look the same.
The sides and back are going to be loaded with windows.
Just waiting for a little bit warmer weather to dig the 100 ft trench from the house.
Going to run power, phone, water and a video camera for inside the coop.
I will be able to view the lady's on my TV with a button on my remote.

Directly to the left there is a fire pit.
There is a stereo in there with a big sub woofer.
We turn the neon light on and sit by the fire during the summer.
I suspect I will have to move the stereo to another shed so the chickens don't get disturbed.
This shed looked just like the one I am going to convert.

I store my Wheel Horse tractor and my log splitter in there.
I added a ramp and 8ft door on the other side.
I put in the two front windows, added a little porch, stone foundation, roof, T-111 siding and Bella Stone under the side window.
The big shed will match exactly.
It will be my 4th and last shed makeover.
This one I restored as my ATV shed.

I cut out the wall and built the doors myself.
The shed wasn't built straight, so making the doors was a little harder..especially because I really don't have any carpentry skills.
I just wing it. I waist a lot of wood, but a little trimming and paint and everything looks fine,

I love seeing other coops! Please show me.
I am only going to dedicate the 12ft on the left for layers. The rest will be used for storage and future expansion.
If all goes well with the layers I might try meat birds.
I do a lot of hunting and harvest as much of my own meat as I can.
This year I have gotten 6 deer.
I also garden veggies, grow my own herbs and brew my own beer.
(If anyone figure out how to make Captain Morgan Rum at home let me know LOL)They are all labors of love and chickens seem like a natural progressions.
My hope is to have a real nice roomy coop with every modern amenity...Happy chickens...tasty eggs.( do you think chickens like jazz or the blues)

Literally..the doors and windows on my coop are going to be better than the ones on my house.
I have been reading and learning everything I can..it's a personality trait that consumes my with every endeavor.

Not jazz or blues - classic rock!!!

Love what you're doing with the "new" coop - you've done a great job on the others! I'm a little jealous...I lied...I'm a lot jealous!

Please post pics as you go along AND when you finish?

Beth
