Agreed. It’s an easy mistake to make. When I was new to ducks I also thought they paired up. Thank goodness for BYC!My first thought is too many drakes. Unlike geese, ducks do not pair up. The ratio needs to be 4 ducks or more for each drake. Otherwise the drakes will fight, over mate, or both.

I kinda figured they’d fight and I do have ways to separate them, but I do appreciate the information, both ducks look like beautiful ducks, I’ve heard people say they’ve got the best temperaments for ducksCongrats on getting your ducks!
I do agree with less drakes...or many more girls. I had 4 drakes to 2 girls once. In their first mating season it was an absolute disaster. And the girls can get harmed by too much amorous attention.
I have 5 Welsh girls, they are really incredibly sweet.
